  1. Here's an interesting one: a book and movie that are both "must-read/must-see" and very different. Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. My recommendation is definitely: see the movie first, which is wonderful. Read the book afterwards, equally wonderful, but completely unreproducible as a movie.
